The area of Altea

Altea is approx a 45 min drive form Alicante airport, offering a varied style for all who visit and it is this choice of activity / accessibility and peace that makes it so unique.

The main town of Altea.

A town offering some lovely stylish shops for clothes, shoes and much more. The town also has an indoor market offering a wonderful range of fresh fruit, vegetables, meats and amazing sea food.

The ocean front runs parallel with the town and a pedestrian walkway stretches for well over a mile, and is flanked by many lovely restaurants, coffee bars and shops.

The Church of Altea and the main square.

Venture to the church at one of the highest points of Alteas main town, it can’t be missed as it can be seen from most directions. It has a beautiful blue tiled domed roof. You will see the small traditional houses and many restaurants and shops that line the streets as you climb to the top, be prepared for a steep climb.

Usually most evenings around the square by the church are lots of little craft shops and many outdoor restaurants / bars flood lit over the cobbled centre.

Market Day.

Tuesday is market day in Altea.

There is a large car park but you need to get there early for a space. The market starts at about 9.00 am till 2.00 pm. This is an excellent market for leather goods, shoes, bags, and more.

The Marina.

Just five minutes from the bottom of the Altea Hills.

The Marina boasts some beautiful Yachts we can all dream about, you can park almost any where free. The Marina has so fare not been too exploited and the restaurant / bars are all good value.

Don Cayo Golf Course.

This is a beautiful well manicured course in the Altea Hills. With its own distinctive style of terrain and tranquil surroundings. The main building and restaurant terrace over looking the course is wonderful.

Beach Bar / Restaurant.

Situated on a beautiful natural coast line with unspoiled beaches. Walk or drive up to the beach restaurant along a shingle strip along the ocean front by Cap Negret. The beach bar / restaurant is very popular so book your table in advance.

Cap Negret is a small area located right on the ocean front, there are also other bars and restaurants worth visiting.

Altea La Vella.

This is in the original village of Altea; although the village is only small it has several excellent restaurants, coffee bars, and supermarkets. The village has a lovely traditional feel and some small tapas / café style bars can also be found.
